Oh my goodness, what a night! It was the first night that our new summer host Brandon took on trivia night here at Reba's and it was awesome! Brandon will be with us all summer every Thursday night at 7:30pm - so come on out!
Last night the theme was basically all about Brandon's first night hosting! The first round was all about "inaugurations & presidents". The second round was all about "hosts"! Think about famous hosts like Ellen Degeneres, Bob Barker, Al Roker, and also the lovely parasitic hosts that exist in Sci-Fi shows and Marvel comics! The third round was "Welcome! To the States!" This was all about the Welcome signs you see whenever you drive into a new state. The fourth round was "All about Brandon". In this round we named different famous people with the first name Brandon - and you had to answer whether that person was an Actor, Singer, or Athlete. The wager round is where some people lost it all and other gained it all! Teams bet their points on famous SNL (Saturday Night Live) hosts! In the end - Team Ramen won it all - as they were the smartest team there! Trivia night will be happening all summer. Invite your friends and family and co-workers out for a Thursday night happy hour and a night of fun! 1st Place: Team Ramen 2nd Place: Smart Asses 3rd Place: 5 Girls & a Boy

Thursday night was so bitter sweet! We had over 50 people in attendance - WOW! It was a packed house with tons of laughter and fun. This was Curtis Bradbury's last night hosting until the end of summer! We are so sad that he has to leave. But I guess he has another job at Luther Hills Camp that he has to prioritize. We love Curtis and will miss him. We have appreciated all that he has done with Trivia Night and bringing it to life. He is amazing and we look forward to him coming back at the end of summer. But! We won't be stranded! As Curtis leaves for the summer, Brandon, who has been attending trivia night since the very beginning, will be taking over as our summer host until Curtis is done with camp! So this coming Thursday will be Brandon's first night hosting - SO PLEASE COME TO SUPPORT HIM AND WELCOME HIM! This will be his INAUGURATION! (**hint hint**). We want to kick off this summer with Brandon in the best way possible, so invite all your friends and family and let's make him feel welcomed!
Anyway, this past trivia night, Curtis threw in some rounds about Stars and movies as well as a blast from the past round in which he asked questions from his past trivia nights! All the teams were pretty close! But in the end, the team from Camp Lone Star gave everyone a run for their money! 1st Place: Through Three Cheese Trees Three Free Fleas Flew 2nd Place: Broke College Students 3rd Place: Jonas Brothers are Back PLEASE COME OUT THIS COMING THURSDAY TO WELCOME IN BRANDON! WOOT WOOT! Texas is awesome. Texas is the best. There was only one round tonight that focused on Texas...but that was the most important round, obviously.
We had 10 teams come out tonight for trivia! Other than Texas, the other rounds consisted of numbers, colors, and children's literature! We discussed crayons, red heads, TEXAS, Olympic sports, giraffes, Winnie the Pooh, TEXAS, Russia, states that are East of the Mississippi....oh yeah, and TEXAS! Sorry...we just got really excited about Texas...I mean, who isn't excited about Texas??? Steven Spielberg also made an appearance at the end of the night for the final wager round of trivia. So how can you go wrong when you put Spielberg and Texas together? 1st Place) Show Us Some Courtesy 2nd Place) The Guys 3rd Place) Like Minds YAY! Join us next week for St. Patrick's Day specials such as GREEN BEER and Pesto Pizza! WOO HOO! If you can imagine a large group of people sitting under an apple tree in a National Park, eating cotton candy and talking about important historical events that have happened on February 28th - then you can kind of picture what trivia night looked like last night.
"How do you like them Apples" was our first round in which we discussed apples....and Matt Damon. Next, Lil' Sebastian from the tv show Parks & Rec made an appearance, as it was a round all about "Parks"! The third round was all about February 28th and historical events that have happened on February 28th! Everybody's sweet tooth showed in round four, in which nothing but CANDY was discussed. The 9 teams who came out were SO competitive last night! There were taunts, heckles, and arm-flailing. All the teams knew their stuff! It was neck and neck the whole night. The two strongest teams tied at the end of Wager Round, so there had to be a tie-breaker! Only one team prevailed and added to the list of historical events that have occurred on February 28th. 1st Place). S'ABER AZZIP (reba's pizza spelled backwards) 2nd Place) Justice of the Pizza 3rd Place) Feel the Bryn Bonnie & Clyde, Notting Hill, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.......CHEMISTRY??? Kind of sounds like a "Valentine's Day Themed" trivia night! Woo hoo!
Tonight we had the pleasure of having THREE amazing hosts who gave us 5 romantic themed rounds! 9 teams showed up to duke it out! We were tested on the most dynamic duos in the world, classic romantic comedies, and CHEMISTRY. Get it? Because you know how people "have chemistry with each other", but also there is the science of chemistry? You get it. The chemistry round stumped a lot of teams, but it also turns out that there are a lot of smart people who know stuff about chemistry! The last wager round about My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Crazy Rich Asians is what revealed the true winners of the night! 1st Place - Box of CHACO - lates 2nd Place - Bees? 3rd Place - 4 Teachers and 1 Theologian Congratulations to all of the smart people of the night! Come back next Thursday! CONGRATULATIONS TO CURTIS AND TAYLOR!
For Valentine's Day, Reba's hosted the "Cutest Couple Contest"! All you had to do was upload a photo of you and your sweetheart dining at one of our Reba's locations up onto Facebook or Instagram, Tag Reba's in your post, and whoever got the most likes on their photo won! Curtis and Taylor won a $25 gift card to Reba's! (And bragging rights). Grammy's, Unicorns, and Roulette???Must be Trivia Night here at Reba's in La Grange! Tonight we had 7 teams come out to test their brains in our weekly trivia night! We had themed rounds that included questions about geography, The Grammy's, and everything in between! Did you know that Scotland's national animal is a Unicorn? Did you know that LeAnn Rimes was the youngest person ever to win a grammy when she was 14 years old? Did you also know that the number 36 is the highest number on a roulette wheel? We learned all these things AND MUCH MORE tonight! Teams were getting fired up and the competition was tight near the end, but the final "wager" round decided it all! 1st Place - Caleb Forgot the Gift Card 2nd Place - My Drinking Team Has A Trivia Problem 3rd Place - Can't Phone Mars Next week we are having Trivia Night which just happens to be on Valentine's Day! So come out to our Valentine's Day themed trivia night on February 14th! Enjoy happy hour, fudge, wine - the perfect date night or just a fun way to have a night out with friends! Welcome to Reba's blog! Our very first blog post is about our very first trivia night! Double Whammy! Trivia Night has started at our La Grange, TX location. The host of Trivia Night, Curtis Bradbury, wanted to bring this event to Reba's as a way to bring people together. He was looking for a way to connect the community and provide something really fun for friends and family to enjoy every Thursday. So we teamed up and are hoping this can become the night of the week that everyone looks forward to! So every Thursday night, Reba's in La Grange will be hosting Trivia Night! We have a fabulous happy hour, so you just can just eat, drink, and play trivia! Some nights will be "themed" for special events like the Super Bowl or Valentine's Day, while the other nights will be "general knowledge". "SUPER BOWL" TRIVIA Tonight was all about bowls! Super bowl Sunday is this weekend, so tonight was everything "bowl" themed. Teams not only answered questions about NFL teams and how many millions of dollars that CBS spends on a 30 second Super Bowl ad, they also answered questions about bowling, the ancient artifacts found in Egypt, and about pottery! And of course there were general knowledge themed questions as well. There were 4 "regular" rounds and 1 "wager" round. Each round was 8 questions that earned you points for each correct answer. At the final "wager" round, you could wager any amount of points that you earned so far on the last question. If your team earned 30 points in the first 4 rounds, you could wager all 30 points on the last question or you could wager a few points, or you could wager none! There were a few teams in the lead the whole time - they knew EVERYTHING about the bowls. But it was in the final "wager" round where the real winners showed. Out of 13 teams, only 1 team got the "wager" round question correct. And since that 1 team wagered all of their points on that question, it brought them to the top and they were crowed the winners of the night! Our next trivia night is next Thursday, February 7th! It will be "general knowledge" themed so bring your general smarts and see if you can take the 1st place title! (You'll win a $25 gift card to Reba's in addition to bragging rights). |
